2024 Preaching Workshop

As an extension of the 2024 Preaching Workshop, a retreat was held from Monday, December 2, to Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Thanksgiving Korean Church and the DoubleTree Hotel in San Pedro. Approximately 20 participants, including seven pastors who attended the workshop, their spouses, and other local church pastors, gathered for this event.

The retreat featured Rev. Young Gil Kim, Pastor Emeritus of Thanksgiving Korean Church, as the keynote speaker. He shared profound insights on the themes of “Ministry and Preaching” and “Joyful Ministry.”

Preaching is a cornerstone of pastoral ministry, and most pastors not only recognize the need to enhance their preaching but also deeply desire to do so. However, opportunities to focus on this critical area are often limited.

In alignment with the workshop’s goals, this retreat created a meaningful space for pastors to engage more deeply with the art and theology of preaching. Through theoretical instruction, practical insights, and shared personal experiences, participants gained valuable tools to enhance their preaching skills. Furthermore, the retreat encouraged reflection on foundational pastoral philosophies related to preaching, leaving attendees both inspired and deeply encouraged.
